Director
Dr. Bruce McCurdy, Ed. D.
Dr. McCurdy has practiced as a licensed Psychological Examiner and Psychologist for over 28 years, specializing in individual and marital therapy. Difficult marriages that have at least one spouse who experiences childhood trauma issues, mood disorder difficulties, personality disorders, and/or addictive issues remain a special focus.
Since 2000 he has served as Director of The Counseling Center at Christ Community Church. In this role he oversees the staff of therapists, practicum and intern therapists who provide a wide range of professional counseling services congruent with the spirituality of historic Christian faith traditions. Dr. McCurdy has taught Professional Standards and Ethics to both Masters and Doctoral level therapists as an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate Counseling Program of Trevecca Nazarene University since 2002. He also teaches at Lipscomb University and online at Bryan University. Dr. McCurdy has led several transformational workshops throughout the year. These are multimedia workshops that use his newly developed psycho-spiritual “map” of our souls that guides transformation into our truest loved and loving selves.
Bruce is lucky to be married to Debbie (aka Debbie Alan, founding host of News Channel 5’s “Talk of the Town”) and they continue to be the happy parents of 3 adult sons: Bruce (wife Michela), Kevin and Chris.

Associate Staff
Arlin Troyer, LMFT
Arlin and his wife Cathy have four children: ranging in age from pre-teen through teenager. As an adoptive father, he is vitally interested in helping families with post-placement attachment challenges and to that end has completed the Trust Based Relational Intervention intensive with Dr. Karyn Purvis, and level one Theraplay training.
“Too often we live life in the fog of good health and favorable circumstances. But then, inevitably, something happens. Something difficult and hard to understand. Something that pushes to the forefront the need for wisdom. Is there hope? On whom can I depend? What am I living for? What matters? Will I live? How will I live? Seeking counsel is often the first step we take on our journey from confusion to song. It is one of my greatest joys to walk this journey with families, couples, and individuals (adults, teens and children) as they begin to unpack their inner world—gaining clarity, meaning, wholeness and freedom in the process.”

Kyle Cruze, LMFT
Kyle is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Tennessee.
His passion and expertise is with adolescent / teenage boys and their families who are struggling to navigate through the difficult and confusing aspects of this culture and life. Additionally, Kyle works closely with those recovering from alcohol / drug addiction.
His early lessons in life and relationships came through the paradigm of athletics. Kyle was blessed with the opportunity to play basketball all four years he was in college. It was through those experiences on and off the court that much of his curiosity and interest in people and their stories began.
Prior to moving into full time private practice, Kyle worked at a residential treatment center with adolescent boys and their families who were struggling with substance abuse and addiction. During these years, Kyle also frequently spoke at national conferences, local schools, and parent groups. One of Kyle’s focuses continues to be the ever changing landscape of teenage substance abuse and the unique treatment it requires.
Kyle views life through a Christian perspective. He believes the nature of spirituality weaves in and out of every aspect of life. He is attentive to the expressed needs of his clients and have counseled in both Christian and secular settings. Kyle’s hope is to be able to come alongside each client - Christian and non-Christian alike - and join them wherever they are at on their journey.
Kyle practices out of The Counseling Center at Christ Community Church in Franklin, TN. He operates as an independent contractor to the church and provides necessary support for church members. Kyle is grateful to be able to serve both the local community and congregational members.
Kyle was born and raised in Knoxville, TN. It was there that he met his wife Kristen who is a Franklin native. Together they have two boys and a girl. When he’s not working Kyle enjoys hunting, being outside woodworking, reading, and spending time with his family (2 Labs included).

Intern
Jenny Mayberry
“Never, for the sake of peace and quiet, deny your own experience or convictions.” – Dag Hammarskjöld
Jenny is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is a proud Cookeville, Tennessee native and she even attended Tennessee Tech University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. Together, Jenny and her husband Patrick are raising four children—one daughter and three sons.
Her personal experience of healing and growth through counseling inspired her to pursue this work and walk alongside others in their own journeys. Jenny believes that true healing is possible when people are offered a safe and supportive space to be fully seen and heard.
In her spare time, you’ll often find Jenny spending time with her family, planning fun gatherings, listening to books on Audible (yes—she counts that as reading!), trying new restaurants, and enjoying the outdoors. If she can be outside with the people she loves, she calls it a win.
